Every site needs and introduction thread!
I guess I'll go first!
Hello everyone! The name is Shelby. I also play Queen Danielle. And I'm not very good at these things, just warning you. I'm (finally) a senior in high school, and I'm loving it so far. I've got a lot of neat classes and am editor of the yearbook! I can't wait until I go to college, where I'll be majoring in Equestrian Administration. For those of you not horsey-inclined, it's basically just learning how to manage a horse farm, event plan, etc. Everything that has to do with horses that isn't science or vet based.
As you probably gathered from my previous statement, I'm totally horse crazy! I've had this little bug from the time I knew what a horse was. (Thanks dad!) My mom blames him for it since he took me to see my aunt's horses when I was like three. I have one horse, Mandy, and she's almost exactly like me. Well, as just like me as a horse can be. I show her quite a bit, but I generally just like riding.
I've been rping for about six years about? Maybe seven now. I started on a Harry Potter website. Hmsowaw2 I believe. It was rather large. I always hope I can find someone that was on it as well. I wish it wasn't dead. I stuck with that site until Hmsowaw4. I just went on it, and I guess there was like a fifth one? Hm. I miss the good 'ol days. Anyway, I've been on a number of different sites here and there, and finally decided to make my own. I loved the idea of the Red Riding hood movie, and decided to put my own spin on it. I hope you all like it as much as I do!
I think that's it, really. I'm not a very complex person. Now it's your turn!

Horses are pretty neat. I wish you luck in your chosen field of study. Can I ask what breed your horse is?
Anywho, I'm not too good with these things either, but here goes...
You can call me Vahn, and I play, well, Vahn. I love RPGs, and have been playing them since forever. But to be more specific, I've been doing play-by-post RPs for the past eight years, give or take.
I'm approaching my mid-twenties, not that I have much to show for it. Heh.
Anyway, as you might've guess from my fondness for RPGs, I like playing video games, and have been playing video since I could hold a controller. I'm also a pretty big fan of anime/manga, but beyond that I have a major passion for Japanese culture and history as a whole (and to a lesser extent the rest of East/Southeast Asia as well). Some of my other interests, in no particular order:
Reading/writing, comic books, foreign cultures, history, music, martial arts, Dungeons & Dragons, Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, science (particularly anthropology, paleontology, linguistics, and psychology), religion/philosophy, mythology/folklore, and the paranormal/supernatural.
Yes, yes. I know. I'm a massive geek, and proud of it.
Here's some of the bands/singers I like, again in no particular order:
Nightwish, Yōsei Teikoku, BoA, Queen, Little Non, Mizuki Nana, Green Day, Savage Garden, Evanescence, Weird Al Yankovic, Ali Project, Eminem, and Avril Lavigne.
Hmm... What else to say? My favorite color is orange. My favorite food is pizza, with pasta a close second. My least favorite food would probably be eggs (even their scent makes me nauseous), but I'm not too fond of baked goods either, nor do I eat meat very often.
Annnd... that's probably enough rambling from me.

Alright! To keep with the rest of ya'll...
You can call me Matra!
I'm currently 21 years old and a senior studying Visual Communication Design (aka Graphic Design) at Arizona State University. Needless to say, I spend most of my waking hours on the computer doing this, that, and the other thing until I have to eat or desperately need sleep.
I've been role playing for at least 8 years now. At one point I owned my own Wolf RP for about 4 years before college set in and I no longer had the time to maintain the site. That said, my favorite animal is the wolf, but as I haven't played them for a while and don't foresee returning to the wolf community of RP'rs, I've been playing humans on and off. I've always been fond of the more medieval fantasy types and well... this piqued my interest, so we'll see where this goes. :]
As far as reading goes, I enjoy the modern fantasy types as I find them to be more fast paced than a more medieval type fantasy. I'm currently reading the Iron Druid series where the main character is supposed to live about a block up from my current residence... to all the references tickle my buttons. I also own every Anita Blake novel, Rachel Morgan book, and Mercy Thompson too. Needless to say I love me some headstrong females. I'm also fond of the equivalent teen novels... but that's definitely a guilty pleasure.
Anyways, enough about me. But! I do hope this site kicks off because I think it could really go somewhere. :]

Vahn: Thank you! I actually just got accepted into my college! And my horse is a Paint horse, but without any white. I might get around to posting a picture....or five. Haha. And I feel the same about eggs.
@matra: I really want to read the Anita Blake novels! My cousin read them and she said they were really good. And thanks for your positive comments about the site! It's taken a lot of work and it wouldn't be half as awesome as it is now without the help of Vahn!

@shelby: A paint horse without white, huh? How common is that? And congrats on your acceptance.
@ Mantra: Heh, I practically live online myself. Wolves are my favorite animal as well, although I've never actually done a Wolf RP before. I haven't read any of the Anita Blake books, but the topic reminded me of this. Don't listen to Shelby. The site was already awesome, I just shared a few historical tidbits.

Vahn: It's actually really common! They're called breeding stock paints and they have classes just for them at breed shows. She actually has more Quarter Horse than paint, so I could dual register her. I have the urge to ramble about horses right now, but I'm resisting. And it was hardly awesome. It was a hot mess. lol.

@shelby: Heh. I don't really mind if you ramble. I like animals, so it's interesting to hear about horses and stuff.

Vahn: That's good! Because I love talking about them! Haha. I just found some good pictures of my horse. I'll post them. Her name is Mandy, I don't know if I said that or not. And she's rather little (about 15 hands, 4 inches in a hand and they measure to the withers, or the little bump thing where her neck and back meet ), and has a very large personality. I'm happy to say that Mandy is my horse equivalent. Meaning if Mandy was a human, she would definitely be my twin. She loves food, being lazy, and enjoys making me mad by not doing what I tell her. And if she pretty much just does whatever she wants (all within reason of course). Now that I'm done rambling, here are the picture!
i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/novalover10/horse%20show/0722001940a.jpg -- feeding time! i usually have to take pictures when she isn't looking or paying attention. she never cooperates when i try to get her to look into the camera, or she moves if she's in a cute pose. ><
i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/novalover10/horse%20show/0325111348.jpg -- sleepy horse. she was enjoying the deep and soft sawdust at the show we were at.
i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/novalover10/horse%20show/0309111713a.jpg -- fuzzy horse. i love fuzzy horses in winter. they are very warm and soft. lol. gosh, i'm such a nerd.
i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/novalover10/horse%20show/0124001258.jpg -- she decided to stick her head through the feed hole whenever she wanted her treats. she is very spoiled and lucky her head was small enough to fit, or i have a feeling she would have been very peeved.

@ Shelby: Aw. That last picture is pretty cute. I think that's pretty cool having a horse. That's like every little kid's dream, right? The last horse(s) I saw up close was a pair of huge draft horses at this apple orchard we visit every fall. I dunno what breed they were, but it was taller than me even at the withers.

Vahn: Thanks! Yeah. I've wanted one since I was like...three? lol. Oooo! They might have been clydesdales, or belgians if they were chestnut in color and really stocky and just big. Which the lady who's barn I keep Mandy at has both a clydesdale and a pair of belgians. They're so cool. They definitely don't know they're so massive!

I really meant to reply to this a long time ago
So nice to meet you! And I'll wish you a belated welcome to the site!
I've always wanted to go to England and Ireland. My ex was from Ireland. xp
Wah! You should start riding again! Ugh. I'm going to become a crazy horse lady...oh wait.
I also wanted to tell you if you find anything that isn't historically accurate please let me know! I know enough I guess, but another member, Vahn, definitely had to help.

I would love to start riding again. Jordan's actually considering getting me a new horse for my birthday (God knows he can afford it). (: That would make my life.
Haha. Thanks much. Ireland's lovely. You really should go. England, too, but I've kind of tired it out.

I don't know why I haven't done this sooner.
Anyway, my name is Andre, and I play Joscelin and Drustan on the forum [and soon many, many more to come, lol]. I've been RPing for roughly 7 years, I think. I've recently turned 24 years old on February 14th. Other than that, I love to read and write, primarily fantasy [my favorite authors are GRRM, Robin Hobb, and Jacqueline Carey]. It's strange to see everyone reading GRRM's books now, too, especially since Game of Thrones was made into a TV show. Hell, I remember when I read that particular book about 10 years ago!
I've also been working on my own novel for about the past 3-5 years. I've completed more than half of it, but I hit a very, very bad writing wall. I'm hoping to eventually break that, lol.
I used to take kickboxing when I was younger, but then moved to boxing when I was a teenager, which I still do. I love to exercise and normally run in the mornings when the weather isn't too crazy. Because of this, I really love to watch combat sports [Boxing, MMA, K-1, grappling events, etc].
I love to watch American Football, and my favorite team has been the New York Giants since I've been very, very young. The awesome thing is that they won the Superbowl against the Patriots [again!] this year, so that was awesome.
Anyway, I'm not really sure what else to say! Maybe I'll update this or something when I think of anything else, lol.
