-- Today was going to be a good day, Danielle could just feel it. The castle was it's usual bustling self, but she was stuck with her ladies doing nothing. Did she ever feel excited to hear the endless gossip that came out of their mouths? Most of it was false, and she never believed anything she heard. Of course she chimed in when they spoke to her, seeming as if she were truly interested, but they knew she wasn't. Danielle suddenly had a brilliant idea. She would go into the city and mingle with her people. In disguise of course. No one would know if she wore her hair down and the plainest of her gowns. (( yay for rhyming :p ))
-- She called upon one of her ladies to help her change. It felt good to be removed of the tight up-do her hair was in. Luckily, Danielle found a plain enough looking dress and an old cloak she could wear over it. It was a lot less heavy and a great deal more comfortable. But of course the whole time, her lady was trying to persuade her not to go out. It would surely lead to trouble. Danielle was by nature, a daring sort and would hear no more word of her staying in the castle. Being alone freed her from the suffocating title she held. If only her king could join her. He would love it.
-- Sneaking through the corridors of the castle proved to be more difficult than she had imagined, but she knew all the back ways and secret doors. No one really paid her any mind. They didn't even recognize her. If the people she saw the most didn't recognize her then no one in the city would. Then finally she was outside and she almost cried out in relief. Danielle began her walk into the city. It was relaxing to just be alone with her thoughts, not worrying about anything except where she was going. It was a lovely cool day and the fresh air was working wonders on her mood and her mind.
-- About five minutes later she reached the city square. Danielle loved it here. It was extremely different than life inside the castle. She had known this life once, and sometimes she missed it greatly. But she wouldn't trade her current life for anything in the world. A few stalls selling different goods were set up here and there. It would be terrific to interact with the people of her kingdom. She was happy to see the current weight of the border attacks and the strange beast wasn't weighing upon their joyous mood too heavily yet. Joscelin was always worried about that.
-- She passed by the stalls, admiring colorful jewelry and the fresh fruits. Danielle felt the urge to buy up everything that caught her eye, but that would draw unwanted attention to her. Until now, she hadn't really thought about what she would do in the even that she would be recognized. Less than pleasant thoughts ran through her mind. Surely they wouldn't harm her in anyway. But if she usually went out in public, she was accompanied by a lady or two and a couple guards to protect her. Now she was all alone and had to rely on her own strength and skill to get her out of any situation that might arise.
