Joscelin Brent, King and Defender of Solraya, is not the son or heir to the throne of Solraya, although no one other than Joscelin knows this, and the select few who were witness to the moment Joscelin was set in Dorelei Fainche's arms. He was a mewling babe that was found abandoned and left to die in the Teeth amidst a smouldering ruin that was once one of many villages in the Teeth.
For years Joscelin had longed to venture into the teeth and find out something . . . anything about his origin. Who was his father and mother? Did they still live? If not, would someone recognize him? Did he look like them? If they still lived did they have children . . . ? He wasn't certain what he wanted, and honestly, part of him feared what may come of finding out about his origin. What if others found out? Would they demand another to sit the throne?
Whatever it may be . . . Joscelin would pursue it alone.
So, I've been bouncing this idea around in my head for some time. Joscelin has been wondering about his origin for years, and I think it's about time that he'd pursue it. He wouldn't tell Danielle about it and he'd leave her behind when he does travel, although he'd have a few trusted Kingsguard with him, especially with the threat of Tyrian present. Still, I was thinking he could find someone who'd recognize him somewhat, perhaps he has his mother's eyes, which could be unmistakeable, or perhaps he looks like his father. Maybe he could meet another young man, or sibling/cousin, or perhaps even a young woman. It could be interesting if there's even somewhat of a strange romance/attraction out of it all if it is a woman.
Anyway, these are just a few ideas and I'm open to any!
I'll get started on developing her tomorrow before and during work
