-She is very sensitive to smell, and often has bunches of sweet smelling herbs and flowers hung around her apothecary shop because she wants to be surrounded by pleasant aromas
-She has an intense sense of vanity. She loves to be told she is pretty, and she knows she is. So she uses that to her advantage when she speaks to men.
-She’s very much a girl in that she enjoys staying home and learning plants and dancing and music and that sort of thing, but she is just as ruthless as any man in the realm with business.

TOXIC SECRET: Amiria runs a legitimate apothecary business and makes good money doing it. However, those who know what they are looking for and who are known for their discretion, there is another business. She is known for her healing and the quality of the herbs she gathers, but still others know her for the darker side of the herbs. She is well versed in the healing qualities of plants, as well as those which will make a man sick or even kill him. Her other secret is that she wishes to become a lover and confidant to the King of Tyrian, as it is well known he takes mistresses.

HISTORY:
Amiria’s family used to have money and a title to their name. Her mother died in childbirth, bearing her brother. Despite the loss of her mother at such a young age, she adjusted well. Her family lived in luxury and she and her young sisters were bred to become ladies of the court and marry well. However, things changed when it was found out that her father was plotting treason against the old king of Tyrian. He was executed for crimes against the crown along with his son to prevent the son from taking vengeance for the father’s death. The sisters were separated and taken by different lords and ladies who were loyal to the crown.
Amiria became the ward of a childless couple, her new father being an apothecary. She learned from the woman that she was placed with the different kinds of herbs and plants and their medicinal (and not so medicinal values). Amiria took to this instruction like a fish to water and learned the trade of her new father. When he died unexpectedly, she took on his business and kept his apothecary shop open to provide money for herself.
She married at 18 to a coachmaker, but she had a lukewarm relationship with her husband. It was a marriage of convenience and nothing more. When she was 19, her husband was found dead in the seeming prime of his life. She appeared devastated, but she knew all along that he was going to die. She had been poisoning him little by little with her knowledge of herbs and spices and he finally dropped from the poison in his system. No one knew or could prove anything against her. She appeared properly devastated. She once again took up her apothecary work and has since been left to her own devices. She hasn’t heard from her adoptive mother and she hasn’t tried to contact her. She feels she is better off alone.
She is quick to reject suits from men who are of equal or lower standing. She wants to remove the shame her father brought down on her family. She wants to be able to prove that she isn’t her father and that she deserves the life of luxury that she once had. She’s not afraid to become the mistress of the king because she feels that she can make him happy and she knows she won’t betray him.
