TOXIC SECRET: While fighting in war, he had done terrible things that haunt him, cause him nightmares. He did most of them under orders, but he was intemperate in his early days of being a knight and he wanted to prove himself.

HISTORY: Rowan was the second oldest of his siblings, and his father and older brother stressed the importance of keeping to his duty and protecting the family. While watching his father compete in a tournament when he was very young, he met up with a man who trained falcons. He fell in love with the idea of man and beast working together. He caught his own falcon and began training it when he was very young. From then on it was a hobby for him. He learned how to treat the birds with respect and in return, they would serve him faithfully. He keeps at least three birds at any given time because he uses them for hunting, scouting, and sometimes while he is fighting.
His father also gave him a love for horses. Part of his responsibilities as a boy was helping to tend to the horses that his mother and father raised. He always appreciated the beauty of a well trained and well bred horse. He helped raise his younger siblings when he was old enough, and he swore the words of the knights of the old code to his father. He promised to protect them and to take the wicked and remove them. He wanted nothing more than to become a knight.
His wish was granted and he began training as a knight when he was young, acting first as a squire for one of his father’s knight friends. He always strove to do his best and to always get things done before they were needed. He wanted to prove his value to everyone and show he had promise as a knight. Eventually, he was brought into the knighthood. He still continues his falconry on the side, but he works twice as hard at his knight training to prove that he isn’t just one among his brothers, but that he is his own person. No one will deny him that.
