-- Danielle stood in her bed chamber just peering down at her little belly. She was barely starting to show. Maybe it was just her imagination. Her delicate pale hands rested on it as she closed her eyes and imagined how it would feel to be fully with child. All that mattered is that she was. Finally, she would give Joscelin what he had wanted for a very long time. This was nothing Danielle wanted more than to have a child. It was the perfect time and exactly what they needed. Never before had she felt so content and purely happy. Their little family would be so cute! They'd have a little one to focus all their time and attention on. Danielle had no trouble imagining what it would be like. They'd go for a walk through the gardens and the little child would find a bird feather, or a small trinket and ask very kindly if they could please go show it to daddy. And how Joscelin would act as if it were the most wonderful thing he had ever seen. He was going to be a wonderful father. A small giggle escaped her as she sighed happily. Nothing could ruin this perfect day, nothing at all.
-- She needed to tell him right now. There was absolutely no way that she could wait until later. Surely he wouldn't be upset that she was interrupting his kingly business to tell him that they were finally going to have a baby. A sweet mewling baby to cuddle and kiss. Danielle knew that he wouldn't want to leave her side. It would be wonderful to share something like this with him. In fact, there was no one else Danielle wanted to share this with. The thought had never crossed her mind. Even when they were younger Joscelin had been the only man she had ever been able to picture herself with. Anything that didn't involve a future with him just seemed so wrong. Even the mere though of it repulsed her. Danielle knew this child would bring them even closer together. Slowly (much more slowly that she would have thought she was capable of in a time like this), she made her way towards Joscelin's study. The guard smiled at her and opened the door, announcing her presence. "I have the most urgent and the most private of news to share with the king." Danielle could barely meet Joscelin's eyes as she spoke the words. She almost spilled the new right there in front of everyone.
