-- Danielle was oh so excited. She had barely been able to sit still all day. Joscelin had commented on it several times when they had spent a few moments together. She hadn't seen Cady in what seemed like forever. And Danielle needed to find out the terrific news Cady had to share. She was going crazy waiting. It had to be something big, she could just feel it. She tried to busy herself with small tasks but of course she could never stay focused for very long. She was a whirlwind around the castle. Of course she tended to just get in everyone's way rather than help, but she was their queen so they humored her and gave her small insignificant tasks to do. It made her feel as if she was helping. Everyone loved to see the queen smiling and happy for it made their kind happy as well. A happy queen meant a happy kingdom.
-- Soon she found herself outside in the gardens, just waiting for her friend to arrive. She almost though about calling for Joscelin and meeting him in their secret spot but she knew he was busy and he could never say no to her. And besides, she might miss Cady and Danielle really needed to talk to her as soon as she arrived. Normally on a day such as this, she would be out riding or as far away from the castle as she could get. But unfortunately she was stuck as close to the castle as she could stand. She would hate for the messenger to be unable to find her and leave Cady waiting for her. Danielle would never forgive herself for making any guest of hers wait because she couldn't stand being in the stuffy castle or the confines of her station for a moment longer.
-- Luckily for Danielle's sanity, the messenger found her with news of her best friend's arrival. A smile lit up her face and she immediately turned back towards the castle and ran right through everyone who tried to stop her. Nothing could stop her now. Oh goodness it had been so long! And so much had changed! She also had lots of news to tell Cady as well! Surely that new could wait until later though. Danielle raced into the courtyard, waiting for her friend to emerge from her carriage. She wanted to be the first one to greet her. She didn't even try to suppress the smile that was on her face. Finally she would have Cady back again, no matter how long she stayed. Danielle hadn't realized just how much she had missed the girl.

As she rode in the carriage that belonged to her now fiance, Cady could not but ponder how in the world she had gotten to where she was in her life right now. She was on her way to deliver the letter from her brother Charles that had arrived two days prior to the day that was addressed towards King Joscelin. However later that evening, a letter had came for Cady that was from her best friend and confidante, Queen Danielle asking if she would be available for tea soon. She missed her best friend and Cady accepted eagerly.
Glancing down once more at the beautiful, elegant, engagement ring that Laeghton had bought and presented her with just last night as they were sharing an evening looking up at the stars thinking about their bright future. She could not wait to be married to him and could not wait to tell Dani the wonderful news. The wedding was going to be soon and she hoped that Dani and Joscelin would be able to attend, or at least Dani so she could be Cady's witness. She had also thought about asking her good friend Elias Drogo to escort her down the aisle. He was an older brother figure to her and she was so grateful for his friendship and guidance. She hoped and prayed that he would accept her invitation. She knew Laeghton wouldn't mind especially with the affair being so small.
As the carriage rounded the corner to the entrance of the castle, Cady suddenly felt butterflies in her stomach however was not sure why she was. It was just Dani she was going to be seeing and hopefully just passing along a very urgent letter. She straightened out her green dress that she was wearing. As she glanced out the window, she laughed as she saw her Queen and best friend rushing from the side gate to greet her with a bright smile. She smiled as the carriage stopped grasping her purse tightly along with the letter to King Joscelin in her hand, she stepped out of the carriage when the door opened.
"Your Majesty," She greeted her friend with a small curtsey before jumping up and hugging Dani tightly, "Dani you look lovely as always. It's so nice to see you. Before we get to the serious matter of why I am really here. I have some very exciting news, Laeghton...Lord Mercer has proposed and I have accepted his hand in marriage. Will you and Joscelin please come? I would be so honored if you two attended." She asked curiously before holding up her left hand with a silly grin. She hoped Dani's news was just as exciting as her own.

-- Danielle let out a small squeal as she hugged Cady tight. "You look wonderful! It's been far too long since I've seen you last!" She exclaimed, letting Cady go. She absolutely couldn't wait to hear the good news. It had to be something amazing or she just would have written it in a letter. Danielle listened closely as Cady began to tell her news. Her eyes got wider and wider. "Oh that's simply the best news I've heard! I'm so happy for you! Of course we will attend!" Danielle exclaimed happily, then taking Cady's hand and examining the exquisite engagement ring. "It's gorgeous!" Then without warning, she swept her friend up into another embrace. She took Cady's arm in her own and began to lead her back to the castle. She leaned her head in close. "I don't want this getting around, although I'm sure it already has." She took a moment, taking a deep breath. "I'm...I'm pregnant!" Danielle said softly but excitedly.
-- The words still felt weird coming from her mouth. Every time she spoke them, even if it was just to herself, she became more and more excited. Finally she was going to get what she, and Joscelin, most wanted. Every day seemed better than the one before. Without thinking, Danielle gently laid her free hand on her stomach. How long had she dreamed of being a mother? Now it was finally going to come true. And she couldn't wait to see Joscelin as a father. He would be a great one, just as his father had been one. She couldn't help but wonder if their child was going to be a girl or boy. They would love it no matter what. A woman could rule a country just as well as a man could, with the right education and knowledge. Of course a woman would have to be taught to keep her fragile emotions out of decisions made for the kingdom. Would they have more than one child? She could picture herself with a couple more. She wondered how Joscelin felt about having more than one. Maybe she ought to just focus on the one she was carrying.
-- "Oh my! I'm just so excited about this wedding! How are the plans? Have you started planning? I have to get you a gift!" Danielle's thoughts were going a mile a minute. There was so much to be happy and excited about! She couldn't wait to tell Joscelin about the exciting engagement. He would be overjoyed as well. Maybe it would also help to keep his mind sane with the ongoing problems in the kingdom. Then she remembered Cady saying something about a more serious issue. What could it possible be? She was a little worried. Could they handle another problem? Maybe it wasn't even a problem at all. Today was just getting more and more exciting by the moment! What a wonderful day this was turning out to be.

To see her best friend more excited than ever to see her company, Cady could not, but smile brightly as she hopped out of the carriage and into Dani's awaiting arms. She squealed being unladylike as the two friends hugged once more and then she was taken by the arm and lead into the castle. The women both wanted privacy so they went inside the castle past the guards and the noblemen who were waiting to see King Joscelin.
"How is his Majesty holding up with the threats of war and the horrible plots around us?" Cady asked her friend softly playing with the letter in her hands that was addressed to the King himself. She did not want to burden Dani at all so she pushed her negative thoughts aside and embraced her best friend once more. It had been too long since she had seen her and she had missed the company of a woman. She loved Laeghton more than anything, but she did not have that companionship with him like she did with Dani.
Dani was more than thrilled for her about her upcoming nupitals to the man she loved and Cady squealed with delight when she heard that her two good friends would be attending her wedding. Laeghton had requested a small wedding and she agreed to that immediately as long as Dani and Joscelin could be invited and Laeghton had agreed to make her more happy about everything. She showed off her ring once more and hugged Cady as they entered her chambers. It soon was empty and the two woman sat down.
Her eyes widened at the news, Dani was with child?! Cady literally screamed in happiness and hugged Dani to herself a bit tightly before pulling away, "You are pregnant?! Oh my goodness Dani this is wonderful! Congratulations are definitely in order, to you and to Joscelin as well! Does he know yet? How far along are you?" She asked excitedly before sitting down with a huge grin as they were given tea.
Letting out a laugh, "No we have not planned anything yet. Laeghton has left me in charge of the affair since he is busy enough. It will be very soon though as soon as he can find a priest who will marry us in private. No gift is necessary Dani, we just want your company. I hope I will become pregnant soon so we can be pregnant together." She said with a smile and a small chuckle. Things were never as they seem so who knew what could happen in the future. As for the present, she was grateful for her friend.
